  vibe i want to capture for nyxtara As a writer, this is my favorite part. Telling the world about my story. Fantasy writing is literally the best. Mostly because the research part of fantasy books is so minimal. You play the God here, you create a world of your own. Rules you wish existed, magic one could only hope was real, characters you create by breaking yourself into pieces. That is the beauty of fantasy writing.  For me, I love kingdoms, castles, knights, magic but also murder. So, for my current WIP fantasy novella, I've created a dark kingdom wrapped in secrets. There is nothing that a cup of hot coffee and a good book can't heal.  By a good book, I don't necessarily mean a good book with high literary quotes or over the top motivational speeches. Sometimes a locked psych ward, a husband being framed for his wife's murder, a psychiatrist trying to uncover the past of a brutal murder can bring the same amount of joy and comfort to you than any good book can. Reading—when done correctly—can bring enormous amounts of changes in your life that will transform you forever—or leave you scarred, take your pick.  By done correctly, I mean to read because you enjoy it, because you actually crave the escapism that it brings you. Reading books only to compete with others, to see the whole process as a book count, but not being able to immerse yourself in the book—not being able to see what the author wants us to see—is completely futile.   Count Olaf: an evil man Is there something wrong with me if my comfort show literally has the word "unfortunate" in it? If you've never watched A Series of Unfortunate Events then you, dear Sir/Madam, have missed a masterpiece of drama, comedy, satire, literary fiction, dark humor and the best spy thriller there ever was. The most enchanting thing that keeps the series alive is the numerous disguises we see in every other episode of the main villain of the show Count Olaf. (beware children, he is a very evil man) He is introduced to us in the very first episode as the guardian of the newly orphaned Baudelaire children. But the children claim that they've never heard of him before from their parents. Nevertheless, the banker- Mr. Poe, takes the orphans to Count Olaf and gives a brief account of his life. How to romanticize writing: so you don't avoid it It's such a beautiful word- "romanticize". To take in every simple moments and noticing the beauty surrounding you.(yes I copied that from the picture but that's not the point) In today's world, people generally romanticize their day to day life to feel more like a character from a comforting book/movie/show. It makes them think of themselves as a part of a life they can never have. But it is truly so much more than that. There is something oddly magical about sitting down at your desk with a warm drink, opening your notebook, putting on your favorite writing playlist, and realizing that, for the next hour, your only job is to tell a story.  UPDATE POST This is just a short update post because something major happened. In my first blog I mentioned having working on a short stories collection book. Well, I simply dropped it and picked up a new idea.  I know, not very professional (but then I'm not) I don't know why but I guess I just lost the motivation. One day I sat to write down the first story and then I thought- "This is not what I want to do." And that was it.  I quit it. But then something new, something fresh started to brew in my mind. It was fantasy. I decided that I'm going to write my own fantasy. It was as simple as that. This new idea woke something up inside me. I just grabbed my notebook and a pen and started to plot and I plotted the entire thing in a day . Crazy, I still can't believe it. So, I suppose my next few blogs would be big rambles about my story's world building. I'm so excited, I have made an entire world of my own with its own rules and magic and power systems...
